Michael Dean White slipped under the electrical fence at Greenway Recycling on Northwest St. Helens Road and spent more than four hours, piling up stolen metal onto a company truck. He was arrested on site Feb. 7, 2021, police said.

A 57-year-old man who stole metal from more than a dozen businesses in the Portland area and then sold the piles of scrap metal to recycling companies for cash was sentenced Friday to seven years in prison.

Michael Dean White pleaded guilty to multiple burglary, theft and gun charges for crimes that occurred from October 2019 through April of last year.
